Nearing its 1 year birthday this tank has pretty much been left alone for past few months. Water changes have been done about every 3 weeks on average, along with supplements, but very very little compared to before. I really needed a slow tank since maintenance time was on short supply. I let the crypts take the foreground over by fertilizing the area once or twice. There was a horrible over growth of duckweed which cut off a lot of light from to the rest of the plants and may have stunted or killed a few in the process. The Balansae obviously thriving nicely and no problem competing for resources. I imagine the rcs shrimp are breeding away in there, its hard to say if there are more now then before because of all the moss growth. I dropped a sort of cosmetic light behind the tank coming from the substrate to make the wood feel closer to the surface… once day this tank will have to be a vivarium I think.
